Write Georgetown:
A Community Writing Showcase
for storytellers, poets, & nonfiction writers
Hosted by Marlanda Dekine & Sara Mullins
All are welcome.
Share your voice at Write Georgetown, a free, monthly community writing showcase that celebrates the stories, poems, and essays that make Georgetown County a creative place.
Beginning in January, the showcase will take place on the second Wednesday of each month. Each gathering will feature selected local writers sharing their original work in an atmosphere of creativity, care, and connection.
How it works:
- Submit your writing to be considered for an upcoming showcase.
- If selected, you’ll have five minutes to share your work aloud in front of others.
- All genres of writing are welcome, including poetry, short stories, personal essays, memoirs, or hybrid forms.
We invite writers of all backgrounds and experience levels to participate. 16 years of age and up. Performances and readings must be delivered in a respectful manner, free from harassment, intimidation, or threatening language. Together, we create a welcoming and inclusive space for all people to express themselves and listen to one another.
Submit to Write Georgetown
Please submit your writing as one .doc, .docx, or .pdf. file. Your writing will be reviewed by a small, confidential group of readers and writers. If your piece is chosen, we will contact you.
